A young woman who was ‘crippled by the fear of rejection’ says she is coping by undertaking a series of terrifying challenges in public.

Sophie Jones wrote a list of many challenges she has to do as a cure for a phobia she has struggled with all her life.

So far, the 22-year-old has managed to tick off 45 items on her list — including going into a lake fully clothed while people swim alongside her and asking customers to give her things from their carriage.

His favorite games include strangers, rock games, paper, scissors and asking to make pizza in the pizzeria kitchen.

He said: “Doing things that scared me has changed my life, and my confidence has been strengthened.

Sophie, who lives in Warrington, England, says she was rejected a lot in her teenage years. When he was 15 years old, he was being bullied at school, which he says hurt him a lot.

He said he became afraid of rejection and began to avoid friendships and opportunities. He didn’t want to put himself first for things like new jobs or friendships because of his low self-esteem.

“I was afraid to make many friends. I felt insecure, I saw others having opportunities and I thought, ‘why didn’t I have them?'”

I felt like it was holding me back. I felt like I was no longer in control of my life. I struggled with my feelings and my outlook on life.”

In February, she learned about a treatment called “refusal therapy,” which can treat the fear of rejection—which she realized she suffers from.

This model is a type of exposure therapy that encourages people to try as hard as possible to be ignored.

After seeing a woman online asking for a free coffee at a store, she decided to start a “fear list” of her own, which inspired the social media manager, but also very scared. (Watch his video below showing a few of his tough moments…)

“The fact that a person can break free from his comfort zone, I wanted to have that hope. I knew it was possible.

“When I started, it was a bad thing. The anxiety of asking someone a question gnawed at me all day. I was afraid of being judged. But now, I’m thriving and living my life to the fullest with less fear.

“I have always seen people dancing and singing in the street and I thought they must have a strong mind. I knew it was my next step; Encourage me and increase my confidence.”

Since discovering the technique, Sophie has been able to make her own ice cream in an ice cream van, and even climb stairs in public on all fours.

He challenged himself to ask the manager of the mattress store if he could sleep on one of the beds, and even asked to slide on the fireman’s pole.

“When I asked if I could get my petrol for free, the woman gave me a dirty look and asked me why I would want it for free. It can be very intimidating at first. ”

As the challenges continued Sophie found herself receiving fewer rejections—which she attributes to her increased confidence.

Now, she feels free from the anxiety of rejection, and encourages others to do the same.

“I want everyone to realize that they can do whatever they want. The greatest opportunities are at hand. ”

“Anyone can do rejection therapy. It doesn’t have to be anything big, sometimes it’s just asking for a bill at a restaurant, you can start small. ”

But, Sophie’s future problems are increasing. He wants to walk in a shower cap and sing on the train. (Check out his video clips below…)
